Intuit Coffe x White Cross Charity Event

On May 26, 2025, the Intuit Coffee team visited White Cross, a child welfare institution in San Juan that has been serving vulnerable children since 1936. Originally established to care for tuberculosis patients during the height of the “White Plague,” White Cross continues its mission today by providing residential care to children in need, many of whom are orphaned, abandoned, or temporarily separated from their families. The institution currently houses 97 children, 19 of which are available for adoption, and offers them a safe space, education, and medical support as they wait to be reunited with their families or matched for adoption.

As part of our charity drive, we donated essential items to support their day-to-day needs. These included sacks of Dinorado rice, EQ Dry diapers, bottles of disinfectant and cleaning materials, and cases of distilled bottled water. While these items may seem simple, they play a big part in the daily care of the children and in helping ease the load for the hardworking staff of White Cross. More than just donations, we also spent time with the community, a few hours of conversation, laughter, and connection that reminded us all of the power of shared humanity.

This donation to White Cross is a collective effort made possible by all our previous bar takeovers. We are incredibly grateful to all the coffee shops and guest baristas who collaborated with us; your time, talent, and generosity made this possible.

White Cross does not receive regular funding and relies on the generosity of individuals and organizations for continuous support. There are many ways to help: through in-kind donations such as food, hygiene items, and baby care supplies; through monetary support; or by spending time with the children, sponsoring meals and engaging them in meaningful activities. Institutions and groups are also welcome to organize educational or outdoor programs, with transportation provided.

At Intuit Coffee, we believe that kindness can be brewed into every cup. Through this visit, we were reminded that impact starts small and grows with community. We invite you to learn more about White Cross and explore how you, too, can help make a difference. Visit whitecross.ph to support their mission.
