Coffee Traceability
Josephine Libres PCQC 2024
Josephine Libres
Coffee Farmer, Davao del Sur
For more than 30 years, Josephine Libres has cultivated coffee in the highlands of Balutakay, where she and her family first settled decades ago. Coffee was the very first crop introduced to them, and with the support of NGOs that encouraged planting improved varieties, Josephine established a farm that has remained her livelihood ever since.
Josephine Libres PCQC 2024 Arabica, which ranked 5th in the competition, reflects the richness of Balutakay’s highlands. With a natural process that deepens its character, the cup reveals warm notes of cinnamon, balanced by the sweet brightness of blackberries and a smooth macadamia finish.

Coffee traceability ensures that every step of the coffee’s journey—from farm to cup—is documented and verifiable. Using scientific data and geographical identification, traceability programs promote authenticity, quality, and transparency, allowing consumers to know exactly where their coffee comes from and supporting sustainable practices for farmers.
