Brewers’ Cup 2026

As part of Intuit Coffee’s anniversary celebration, the store hosted Brewers’ Cup 2026: Journey in the Cup on March 1, gathering passionate brewers for a morning of skill, creativity, and friendly competition.

The competition welcomed participants who registered with a ₱2,000 entry, which included a specially prepared Brewer’s Kit. Each kit came with essentials for the competition: a customized tote bag, sorting tray, Intuit Coffee’s newest beans, practice competition beans, a cupping spoon, Alon water, and a sticker pack. These tools helped competitors prepare and refine their brews before stepping onto the judging table.

Throughout the event, brewers showcased their techniques as they crafted pour-over coffees using carefully selected beans. Competitors focused on grind size, pouring patterns, timing, and extraction, all while presenting a cup that best expressed the coffee’s flavor and balance. Each brew was evaluated for taste, clarity, and overall execution.

The competition was judged by a panel of experienced coffee professionals:

Jancy Kilayko – Owner of Primal Brew Coffee and Sensory Professional

Iana Peralta – SCA Sensory: Intermediate and coffee competition veteran

Freddie Aguirre – Co-founder and Head Roaster at Santan Coffee Roasters

Jason Orense – Coffee competition finalist and sensory judge

Alex Lauan – Owner and Roaster of Alon ng Kape and seasoned competition judge

Zeyn Afuang – CQI Q Arabica & Robusta Grader and processing professional

After a series of carefully evaluated brews, the competition concluded with the announcement of the winners:

🏆 Champion: Christian Philip Polidan
🥈 1st Runner-Up: Emmanuel Escosura
🥉 2nd Runner-Up: Rafael Jacob Ruga Romero
🏅 3rd Runner-Up: Jays Almendrala

The champion took home ₱3,000 in cash, a trophy, premium sponsor beans, and a Brewista Artisan Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle.

More than a contest, Brewers’ Cup 2026 reflected Intuit Coffee’s journey from its first cup to its first anniversary. The event brought together brewers, coffee enthusiasts, and the local community to celebrate the craft, knowledge, and passion that continue to shape the coffee experience at Intuit Coffee.
